Fabulous Find: Yellow Winter Coat

Oh how I wish I lived in a colder climate so I could justify purchasing this gorgeous mustard-yellow coat! I know I shouldn't be complaining about our perfect winter weather here in Arizona but I would happily trade our 65 degree weather for this coat!

Rain, Rain, Don't Go Away!

I love rainy days, especially because they are so rare here in sunny Arizona. It has strangely been raining non-stop for the past week and I'm tempted to buy a pair of cute rain boots or at least a fun umbrella, but I know this won't last and I will just end up looking ridiculous in this. Maybe I should move to Seattle, WA just so I can pull off these cute accessories!

Fabulous Find: Bridal Dress Hanger

Tons of my friends got engaged over the holidays and I'm super excited for them for a purely selfish reason - I get to re-live wedding planning vicariously through them! Maybe I'm in the minority but I had a blast planning my wedding. I loved everything about it, from picking out the dress to choosing the menu! I wish I could plan another wedding but until I can convince Mr. Designs by Vanessa to do a vow renewal, I'm happy with sharing in my friends' happiness. Check out this awesome personalized bridal hanger I found on Etsy, such a great idea and it would look perfect in pictures! Would it be strange if I ordered one of these for myself and had my dress re-photographed with it almost 3 years post-wedding?

Girl Scout Cookies

It is that time of year again - the girl scouts are out and about hawking those delicious (and evil) cookies! I've been Thin Mint-less far too long and I seriously need to track down a girl scout. If you are a baker, you can try your hand at making your own homemade Thin Mints or Samoas. What are your fave Girl Scout cookies?

Haiti Relief Fundraiser

I'd like to take a moment to think about all of the lives that were lost and the continued suffering following the devastating earthquake in Haiti. I'm completely heartbroken by this news and pray that the Haitian people find the relief that they so greatly need. Basic supplies (food, water, medical) are needed and we can help by directly donating to the American Red Cross. Indie Fixx is also graciously coordinating a silent auction of items by indie crafters, artists and designers with proceeds going to the Red Cross International Response Fund. What a great way for the handmade community to get involved!

I was tagged a million years ago by the fabulous Lindsay of Shrimp Salad Circus, so here's more information than you probably ever wanted to know about me...

1. Your hair? I'm in the process of growing it out. The plan is to donate it to Locks of Love, let's hope I can resist chopping it off before then!
2. Your favorite food? If I had to pick just one food to live on for the rest of my life, I would pick pickles. Yes, I realize I'm strange.
3. Your favorite drink? I'm addicted to Soy Hot Chocolate but part of my new year's resolution is to cut way back on caffeine (good bye Starbuck's).
4. Your dream/goal? I would love to do something creative/write about crafting for a living. I also want to travel the world with Mr. Designs by Vanessa and to one day become a mommy.
5. Your hobby? Besides being crafty, I love photography, writing, traveling and I even enjoy working out (most of the time).
6. Your fear? I have a seriously irrational fear about spiders. Eww, just thinking about it makes me cringe!
7. Where were you last night? Mr. Designs by Vanessa and I watched Point Break (you know, the movie where Patrick Swayze plays a hot surfer/ex-president bank robber?) and went to bed. I live an interesting life!
8. Something you say all the time? I probably need to stop saying "fabulous" so many times. I annoy myself with it lol.
9. Something that you’re not? An outdoorsy person (but I still enjoy looking at the outdoors - from indoors!)
10. Wishlist item? A wireless remote for my camera.
11. Last thing you did? Wrote up a report for my "real" job.
12. What are you wearing? Jeans, a fuchsia top and a fabulous (I told you I overuse this word) new fuchsia/gray scarf.
13. Your pets? I have the 2 cutest furbabies - Sparkles and Chyna.
14. Friends? I have them and love them.
15. Missing someone? I miss my family and friends who are scattered across the country.
16. Something you’re not wearing? I'm not wearing shoes at the moment.
17. Your favorite store? Anthropologie and of course Etsy!
18. Your favorite color? I was always a purple and pink fan but now I'm really loving all of the bold colors, especially mustard.
19. The last time you cried? I started tearing up at one of those heartbreaking ASPCA commercials. Those get me every time!
20. When's the last time you laughed? I laugh everyday, Mr. Designs by Vanessa is a pretty funny guy.
21. One place that I go to over and over? Hmm the internet?
22. Where do you eat? When I'm out and about I love me some Pita Jungle.

Happy 2010!

Happy 2010 to all of my blogging friends, I've missed you guys! Mr. Designs by Vanessa and I spent Christmas in New Mexico visiting family and then we drove to Sedona, AZ to ring in 2010. It was a very relaxing New Year's Eve in a cute little bed and breakfast, maybe a little too quiet, but they say that your New Year's Eve is indicative of how your year will turn out and I could use a little relaxation in 2010. I wish you all a relaxing 2010!
