Rain, Rain, Don't Go Away!

I love rainy days, especially because they are so rare here in sunny Arizona. It has strangely been raining non-stop for the past week and I'm tempted to buy a pair of cute rain boots or at least a fun umbrella, but I know this won't last and I will just end up looking ridiculous in this. Maybe I should move to Seattle, WA just so I can pull off these cute accessories!

When the fabulous Kathy of Kathy Scoffield Photography offered to shoot a few photos of me for Designs by Vanessa (there are some nifty changes in store for this blog) and my craft journalism ventures, I jumped at the chance. Kathy is super sweet and a fabulous photographer - just check out her blog for yourself. I have to admit that I was a little anxious about how I would look in the pictures because I'm still working to return to my pre-wedding/pre- guys can eat anything they want without gaining a pound/pre-"let's just order pizza" weight. I had nothing to worry about because Kathy worked her photo magic. I always enjoy seeing the face behind the blog so I thought I would share a few pics...

Crafty Weekend

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a craft-filled weekend. I dragged Mr. Designs by Vanessa to a little local craft fair this weekend and was able to get my handmade fix. For those of you here in sunny Arizona, Momma's Organic Market happens every 3rd Sunday of the month at Park West in Peoria. I'm considering setting up shop there in a few months (aka- when it starts cooling down). What was everyone else up to this weekend?
