Thank You

Thank you so much for all of your kind words yesterday! It truly is amazing the important role that our pets play in our lives and families. I couldn't have imagined my childhood without Kitty and I'm incredibly grateful for the time that she blessed us with.

Our vet was kind enough to give us this beautiful "poem," along with a imprint of our kitty's paws on a pretty plaque.
Here is the verse:
"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...."
Hope it comforts you like it did for me.

I am always moved over the outpouring of condolences for loss of our pets.
And, why shouldn't there be? They wiggle their way into our hearts, they hear our secrets, they console us in ways that two-leggers are sometimes in capable of, they are beyond special and each one irreplaceable.
When I lost one of my pets to a disease, one of my friends who knew Oliver cried and asked me "How do you do it? How do you keep getting animals?"
I told him "I can't live without pets, they enrich my life and this is simply the price I pay, at this end of their lives, for everything they have brought to my party up to this point."
Blessings on your kitty for being persistent enough to gain access so she could grace you all with her presence for so very long, she's safe at the Rainbow Bridge, and blessings to your family all around at this time of loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have always said it my pet is not in Heaven waiting for me, then I'm not going either. I so miss my dogs who have passed on. My daughter lost her cat about a year ago. We all miss that cat desperately.

Remember your friend with fond memories.

Im sure your kitty also considered herself priviledged to have such wonderful and loving people to look after her, and with that care she survived a lot longer than the usual time for cats to live. With love and hugs Shirleyxxxx
