Style Board: Stroller Accessories

We received our stroller this week and it's now a (hopefully) temporary fixture in the middle of our living room. I'm starting to realize that baby gear will soon be taking over our home! So, what is a mom-to-be to do when she receives her stroller? Accessorize of course! Haha I'm totally kidding! I wish I could tell you that this little guy will have a stylish mama but I'm 99.9% certain that I'll be living in my yoga pants come August, a girl can dream though...

Idea Board: Butterfly Nursery

Alyssa recently emailed asking for my help with her nursery, she wrote:
"I really want a nursery that is classic and simple. I like light neutral colors on the walls and white furniture. As far as accents go, I’m thinking either birdies or butterflies, in a very subtle way. I also like soft yellows, greens and pinks."
While I love birdies, I feel like bird nurseries are everywhere so I decided to go the butterfly route. I'm not a fan of heavily themed rooms where everything from the bedding to the trashcan is matching so I would personally pick a bedding that doesn't have butterflies in it and add in a few subtle butterfly accents. I'm in love with this Buttefly Mobile and these Butterfly Mirrors from Pottery Barn Kids. I think this Mini Shade Chandelier in green would be perfect for the room and I would try to find a similar table lamp. I would also make a couple of these Ruffle Pillows in green and pink. I hope this inspired you Alyssa, I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thanks for giving me a break from all things boy!

Idea Board: Modern Bird Nursery

Lara recently emailed me asking for my help with her nursery, she wrote:
"I'm thinking a blue-gray (fairly light) wall color with white crown molding and possibly a white chair rail. White furniture. Then pops of bright colors - red, yellow, dark blue, orange, etc. I want a subtle bird/nature theme. I'm thinking a white branch or tree on the wall and little bird/nature tchotkes. I want clean, bright, modern, cheerful..."
This nursery is right up my alley and very similar to my own modern nursery plans so it was fun coming up with new ideas. Chair railing reminds me of a traditional room so instead I added a stripe of gray to the room for a more modern effect. I hope this inspires Lara, I can't wait to see pics of her finished nursery!

Project Nursery: Idea Board

Project Nursery is in full swing in our household and I'm loving every minute of planning for our little guy's arrival. I've felt more and more flutters this week so I'm thinking that he also likes his nursery plans. I look forward to showing him his room for the first time and watching him grow up in that room. Ok, I officially can't write a post about our son without getting misty eyed...dang pregnancy hormones! My idea is a modern nursery in primary colors (red, blue, green, yellow, brown) with woodland creature accents. It's a little different and unique, which I love!

Mustard Yellow & Pink Nursery

Thank you for helping me think pink yesterday, I think I finally have a girl nursery plan that I LOVE! If we have a girl, we'll be going with the mustard yellow and pink scheme (with birdie accents of course). I'm actually really, really, really excited about this plan and equally as excited about my boy nursery plan (idea board coming soon)! I just can't wait to start decorating our nursery. It feels like it has taken an eternity to get to this point and now that we are finally here, it just feels surreal! Do I really get to start decorating our nursery after tomorrow?!

On a more serious note, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow. The anatomy ultrasound is important for so many reasons (not just to find out the gender) and I'm anxious to hear that this baby is healthy.
